About the company.
Ocean Fiskur is a Danish sales company founded by Rasmus Schmidt, specialized in selling fresh and frozen fish from the North Atlantic Ocean. We strive to supply high quality fish products on demand direct to producers, wholesale, foodservice and distributors in Europe and abroad. We focus mainly on fish supply from Iceland and the Faroe Islands, as well as supply from selected plants in Europe producing from North Atlantic fish raw material. We source fresh whole round gutted fish in tubs, fresh and frozen H&G, as well as frozen Fillets interleaved, frozen Portions and Loins IQF 5kg cartons, and frozen B&P blocks, frozen Mince blocks. Main species sold are Cod, Saithe, Haddock, Redfish and Greenland Halibut. Passion for fish
In Ocean Fiskur we aim to bring producers in need of raw material, and importers in need of frozen fish products, - close to the catching resource. This done through long term relationships and through open dialogue for mutual benefit to the whole chain from catch to end user.
Our brand
"Fiskur" is the Icelandic and Faroese word for Fish. And the logo is a "Vegvisir", - a viking compass, an ancient Scandinavian symbol that the vikings believed to be magical and to give protection against getting lost (particular at sea), but it is also a symbol for guidance and for staying on course, - finding way through all the ups and downs, twists and turns our lives can take. "The wearer of the viking compass will not loose his way, even if he does not know of his destination".
